Franco Poli ha disegnato per Zeritalia il tavolo da pranzo TAU.
He was born in Padua in 1950. After completing his studies in Venice, he has been working as a design
professional since 1974, based in Florence, Venice and Verona. He has played a part in three decades of Italian design with a questing, highly personal approach that has led him to work for a large number of companies in the attempt to merge theory, aesthetics and design technique in products that would stand the test of time and bear an unmistakably Italian imprint.
A fierce defender of the special character and independence of Italian design, in the '90s he founded the A.D. Veneto associations and the Italian Chamber of Design, playing an active role in the proceedings of the National Council of Design Associations (C.N.A.D.) in Rome. He taught History of Design at the Fine Arts Academy in Venice until 1996, and is visiting professor at the Politecnico in Milan. He has to his credit countless publications, awards and exhibitions in Italy and world-wide, in particular the acquisition of the "Flying" ultralight chair by the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum, the recent acquisition of the Boogie Woogie bookcase by the Fond National d'Art Contemporaine and the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design 2002 award. He has lived and worked in Verona since 1998.
