The Piano Design Workshop, founded in 1996, concentrates its efforts mainly in the field of industrial design.
Its first three years were spent working together with some of the most
important Italian and foreign firms. They won the "Compasso d'Oro" for
their project "Nuvola" in 1998 and the "Good Design 2000" award for
their designs for a set of cutlery.
Piano Design has been working on its own projects since 2000.
Significant works include: "Nuvola" outdoor lighting system designed
for Guzzini Illuminazione; Set of cutlery for the Finnish company
"Hackman"; "Berlino" industrial calotte for Guzzini Illuminazione;
Cooker unit and oven for Smeg; Door handle for Fusital; Sanitary
fixtures for Ceramica Dolomite; Tap fittings for Ideal Standard;
"Perroquet" lamps for in door lighting for Guzzini Illuminazione; Urban
furnishings for the French company JCDecaux (bus signs, column, trash
bins and benches).
