Gabriele Pezzini,
designer, was born on December 4th 1963 in Charleroi (B). His artistic
education (Istituto d’Arte and ISIA of Firenze) draws him to
constantly experiment, which he considers the basic element of his
career as a designer. Senior designer and later design manager
consultant for the French company Allibert – a leading European
company in the transformation of plastic materials – he was a
product designer and worked on product strategies and coordinated
image. He has collaborated with Italian and Asian companies in
different sectors such as: Poltronova, Wella, Neri, Guzzini, Sica,
Krover, Decathlon, Area plus, Xindao. He was visiting professor for the
ISIA in Firenze, the Politecnico in Milan, University of Bratislava
(SK), l'Ecole de Beaux Arts of Saint Etienne (F), at the Rhode Island
School of Design (USA). He has published many articles in the most
important international magazines. He has published several books, his
last publication being ON/OFF by Mel Byars New Electronics Product
2001, in which he illustrates a research project for Wella Italia.
Since 2001 he has been carrying out a work-in-progress with DO-CREATE
and has created and currently manages the Virtuallydesign.com, a
company dealing with on-line design, production and trading.
