Biagio Cisotti born in Aradeo (Lecce),
lives and works in Florence where he received his degree in
architecture in 1980. He currently teaches design and production
technology at the ISIA institute in Florence. In 1990, together with a
group of Florentine architects, he founded MADE, a cultural
organization and gallery dedicated to promoting new concepts in
architecture and design. In 2000, he taught post-graduate courses in
Montevideo, Uruguay, and at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He is the art director for several companies and participates in
numerous national and international shows.
Sandra Laube was born in Frankfurt (Germany) and moved to Florence in
1986. The following year she enrolled at ISIA where she graduated in
1993. In 1992 she won a scholarship to the College of Art and Design of
Minneapolis (USA) and held an internship with 3M, in the communication
and image department. She is an art director of graphics and explores
the world of multimedia design with a concentration on interactive
communications. She teaches at the POLIMODA International Institute of
Fashion Design & Marketing in Florence and teaches courses in
collaboration with the University of Florence and the Fashion Institute
of Technology of New York. She participates in numerous national and
international shows.
In 1992 the two designer began
working together with several companies such as: Alessi, B.R.F.,
EX-Novo, Fine Factory, Namaste Handels GmbH, Nouvel Bague, Partner
& Co, Oca Nera, Plank, Poltronova, Vilca, Zeritalia. Their works
have been on display in various international museums and are part of
permanent collections in several design museums including: the Museum
für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, the Museum of Decorative Arts and
Design in Gent and the Museum of Design in Cape Town. In 1996 they had
a personal show in "Wohnperspektiven" in Rottweil, Germany.
In 2000 they won the design competition FORMA FORUM the for their chair MILLEFOGLIE .
Their works have been published in many national and international
magazines such as the “International Design Yearbook”.
